On September 23, 2025, a working meeting was held at the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration between specialists of State Enterprise “Zakhidukrgeologiya” and the regional leadership – First Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration, Vasyl Ivanchо, and Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Zakarpattia RMA, Yurii Shpontak.

The participants discussed key directions for the development of the geological sector, which hold strategic importance for Zakarpattia and for Ukraine as a whole:
🔹 Mineral resource base of the region: focus was placed on the study and rational use of gas fields, as well as the unique deposits of mineral waters that are a hallmark of the region.
🔹 Geothermal resources: their potential for energy independence and community development was emphasized, along with their therapeutic and recreational value.
🔹 Monitoring of hazardous geological processes and groundwater: the need for a systematic approach to monitoring drinking groundwater, environmental conditions, and reducing natural risks was highlighted.
🔹 Mineral resource base of local communities: creation of geological-investment passports, as well as the potential use of mineral waters for rehabilitation purposes in district hospitals. Special attention was given to enriching the regional analytical portal with information on prospective mineral resources.

For over 70 years, SE “Zakhidukrgeologiya” has been a leading geological exploration enterprise in Western Ukraine. Our achievements include the discovery and exploration of most of the region’s deposits, certified laboratories, and a comprehensive geological information archive. With the support of PJSC “Nadra Ukrainy”, today we are restoring geological presence in Berehove and are ready to partner with local communities and authorities for the sustainable development of Zakarpattia.
